It is widely regarded as one of the most influential and iconic films in the history of cinema. The story is set in a dystopian future where society is divided into two classes: the wealthy elite who live in luxury above ground in the futuristic city of Metropolis, and the oppressed workers who toil in harsh and dangerous conditions underground to keep the city functioning. The film explores themes of class struggle, technological advancement, and the dehumanizing effects of industrialization.
